T7 E Fencing Club Now in its second year, the Wagner College Fenc- ing Club was organized to bring back intercollegiate fencing to Wagner. The club has grown from an original six members to twenty. Much of the credit goes to Dr. Stern, the able faculty adviser whose en- thusiasm has been an inspiration to all members of the club, ln addition to its long range goal, the club has a regular fencing schedule, conducts classes to train interested students, and travels to collegiate meets during the fencing season. Now that facilities have been secured in the new gymnasium, the club hopes for a rapid completion of its aim to advance Wagner in another collegiate sport. 83 Officers President . . it . .TGERALD GUNDERSEN Vice President . ,. . . - 4lif Yacht Club ln I949 the Wagner College Yacht Club was formed by a group of boating enthusiasts to promote interest in sailing and intercollegiate competition dealing with small craft. Starting with a few in- formal meets at neighboring colleges, the group has advanced markedly toward its first goal: member- ship in the Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association. Until membership in the M.A.l.S.A. can be realized, the club is continuing its informal meets with local colleges. ln the past year, the Club has returned with the winner's pennant each M .L . ,Q f ui L Commodore . . . i , ' :EQ it Vice Commodore I SecrEEryiTrelasurerl . . This May will see an official meet against Fordham, Columbia, Cooper Union, and Stevens. Prior to this, there will be several informal trian- gular meets at City Island. With the groundwork thus prepared, it is hoped that yachting will become a recognized sport at Wagner. lf the advancement remains as constant as it has been in the near-past, the future will bring the hopes to reality. . .
