Since the Seahawk netmen organized in l9-49, they have compiled an overwhelming 23-6 record. Having lost four lettermen through graduation, the l95l season did not look very promising. Nevertheless, paced by returning veterans Pete Landis and Captain Ralph Powelson, with the addition of Rebel Anderson and letter- men Bob Snedeker and Nat Webster, the Wagner squad smashed out impres- sive victories over C. C. N. Y., Manhattan College, and a strong Kings Point team, among others. Powelson, meeting the top players in the East, won all but two of his matches, while Landis, playing in the number two singles pos-ition, had an un- defeated season. Anderson, third man on the team, showed an 8-3 record, while Snedeker took seven out of eleven matches, and Webster chalked up five wins. The Seahawks' first doubles combination of Powelson and Landis won all of its encounters, and was the deciding factor in at least three of Wagner's triumphs. The remainder of the team was composed of Bill Kerr, Bud Garretson, Hilty Shapiro, and Gene Long. llfiilitllfn riff DTQMSTTED BEF O pl,llv'l. DF 'S 'fi DAYS ul. lr!

-2 qty! is With all of its meets scheduled away from home, the Seahawk track team did not enjoy a suc- cessful season in l95l. Entered in eleven meets, the Wagner cindermen were severely handicapped by the lack of practice facilities and, consequently, could record but one victory, and that over Jersey City Junior College. ln dual meets, the squad lost to Hofstra, Mont- clair, St. Peter's, and C. C. N. Y., and was defeated by Fairleigh-Dickinson and Brooklyn Poly in its only triangular event. George Kenyon, Chuck Rockefeller, George Scheitlin, and Ed Weinburg represented Wagner in the Seton Hall Relays at South Orange, New Jersey, while John Paven, Bill Oster, Scheitlin and Rocke- feller comprised the mile relay squad which com- peted in the Penn Relays at Franklin Field, Philadelphia. The Wagner tracksters finished fourth in the Greater New York Conference Track and Field championships at Kings Point, Long Island, but failed to place in the Metropolitan Small Colleges-' Meet or in the Middle Atlantic States Champion- ship Meet. ll8 The squad's leading scorers were George Ken- yon and Dick Wasrnund, closely followed by Captain Ted Lovington, the team's sole four-year man, and Bill Roehrich. Other members of the team were Marv Lepaw, Don Graves, Mal Tjorohom, Don Juliano, Jordan Davis, Fred Geils, Rolf Mielzarek, and Manager Jim Keller. TED LOVINGTON Captain
