Cl1GSS The Wagner College Chess Club, organized in the fall of 1948, has again enjoyed a successful year. Although inter-collegiate participation was somewhat reduced, great strides were made in teaching the game to those Whose interest had been aroused. Contrary to popular belief, the club is not solely for accomplished players, but also for those who are entirely ignorant of the game and Club would like to learn how to play. One of the organizationls purposes is to make this possibility available. In an effort to stimulate greater interest and participation, the club, with the help of the Staten Island Chess Club presented an unusual exhibition last year of rare sets and other chess oddities. It is hoped that similar efforts can make more people aware of this interesting pastime. OFFICERS President . . . . . LLOYD DOC IAMIESON Vice President . . . . . .
