Deutsc er Verein One of the chief aims of the Deutscher Verein is to bring to its members an understanding of the German culture and folkways. To achieve this goal, lectures, discussions and motion pictures depicting the German life of the present and the past were the main features of the club activities. The annual VVeihnachtsfest was one of the efforts in this direction and it met with huge success. In order to promote fluency in the German language, many meetings, during President . Secretary . Treasurer . Librarian . Historian . OFFICERS ..WE which the language was used exclusively, were held off-hill. Through Dr. De Walsh,s retirement, the Deut- scher Verein lost its founder and most active member. The organization had the pleasure of unanimously granting him honorary life mem- bership. The new faculty advisers that the club has welcomed into its midst are two outstanding scholars, Dr. Kenneth Scott and Dr. Harry Eisen- brown. ERT H. HUNERSEN . GERARD HAHN . . Its functions con- sisted of excursions to New York, presentation of films concerning ancient and modern Germany, and, of course, the Weihnachtsfest which has become a tradition dear to the hearts of all Wagnerians. In these activities the Kreis worked in close cooperation with the Deutscher Verein, its brother organization. Due to the resignation of its dear friend and founder, Dr. F. C.
