lpha Psi me a A national honorary dramatic fraternity, Alpha Psi Omega was first organized on August 12, 1925, at Fairmont State College. It is a society for those doing a high standard of work in dramatics. During the years since then, Alpha Psi Omega has expanded among colleges of the United States and Canada, and as a result, a Wider fellowship for those interested in the col- lege theatre has been provided. Lambda Kappa Chapter at Wagner is one of the now two hundred and thirty active chapters. The fraternity does not replace membership in the regular dramatics club, but it stands as a re- ward for students, contributions to dramatic art. Election to membership is based on a twenty- Hve point system according to the type and amount of work which has been done by the individual. The fraternal society is particularly interested in providing a tie between graduates and undergraduates who are active in dramatics. OFFICERS Honorary Cast Director . . PETE DI NINNO ar it Player For the past twenty-seven years the Varsity Players has endeavored to give its patrons the best in dramatic art. On January 20, 1924, the group first met and since then has been attempting to fullill this aim. Bringing George Bernard Shaw into the Wagner theatre, the VP'sv presented, in the spring of 1950, a lively produc- tion of Androcles and the Lion with Christopher Mor- leyls Good Theatrev as a curtain raiser. The student production was the eerie mystery, 'KA Murder Has Been Arrangedv. A one act play, The Least of Thesev, drama- tized from Leo T olstoy's story, WVhere Love Is, There God Is Alsop, was presented in chapel during Lent. Efforts in the fall brought forth another student production, Oscar VVilde,s 'The Importance of Being Earnestn which was enthusiastically received by its audi- ences. Professor Nicholas A. Moss directed another of his usual successes, The Cherry Orchardv, by Anton Chekov. For the past three years Mr. Moss has been the director and faculty adviser of this group. He has gained the respect of all who have worked with him for his excellent guidance and directing. A thriving group, the membership is continually in- creasing and hundreds of dollars Worth of new, perma- nent equipment has been acquired.
