raditions ommittee THE COMMITTEE RICHARD VALEES Chairman PETER DE NINNO GRACE JOHANSEN WILLIAM BROWN RALPH CARLONI The Traditions Committee directs all traditional student functions. It is empowered to define and administer all traditions at Wagner College and has the power to enforce penalties for infractions of the rules. It consists of the Councilman for Tradi- tions as Chairman, together with two seniors and two juniors appointed by the Student President upon his election to oflice. The committee has direct supervision over the publication of the Handbook and the freshman-sophomore activities. The members of the Traditions Committee are also members of the Board of Traditions, which includes representatives, appointed by the President of the College, from the faculty and the Alumni. 74

lllllllllm tudent Christian Ssociation The Student Christian Association is VVagner's one all-inclusive student religious organization. A variety of activities were presented by the SCA, giving opportunities of service to any interested XVagnerian. The regular meetings were bi-weekly at which pertinent topics were presented and discussed. Standing committees were active: Missions Emphasis brought foreign missionaries to various chapel pro- gramsg Social Action carried on projects, including work at the Bethlehem Orphan Home on Staten Is- landg Bible Study was concerned with Study groups in the dormitoriesg Vesper devotions were conducted every Tuesday and Thursday, being planned and led by studentsg Sunday school classes were held on the Hillg the SCA again sponsored the Campus Com- munity Chest drive, with the third annual Carnival. The Association engaged in an extensive recreational program. 75 The SCA was responsible for the institution of the first Religious Emphasis NVeek, known this year as VVagner's Faith and Life VVeek,'. Through these activities the SCA hopes to present the message of God's love for all mankind, and to develop and strengthen rich and effective personal faith Within each member of the Wagner College family.
