HEERLEADER Come on Creen, Come on White . . This lusty cry is familiar to all Seahawk fans. lt is initiated by ten girls in green, the cheerleaders. After losing a large majority of the squad at graduation, they started in Sep- tember with seven new girls. Despite this handicap they have surpassed previous seasons in the formation of new cheers, spirit, and vitality. Their performance between halves on Homecoming Day has become a greatly anticipated event. On Held and court, their appearance has become a vital part of the color and tradition of Wagner. They are under the capable supervision of Miss Helen Toebke and co- captains Norma Zawadski and Lois V asoll. ,if ,mme Wi' TENN The Wagner College Tennis Team enjoyed a successful season as they powered their way to eight wins while losing but two matches. Among the stronger clubs they defeated was St. Iohn's which was taken by a close 5-4 score. Mr. Ciesemann coached the eight man squad that played its home games at Clifton Tennis Club, Fort XVadsworth, Staten Island. Ralph Powelson led the YVagner attack at first singles, Pete Landis ranked at second singles, Ray NVhelan held third spot, Captain Milt Grosz held fourth position, Don Drown played fifth singles, and Ray Adams placed sixth in the team rankings. Powelson and Landis combined in first doubles, Crosz and VVhelan played second doubles, and Hank Clifford and Adams played third doubles. Nat Welyster was alternate and Bob Snede- ker filled the post of manager. All but three of the squad played their last match for the Green and VVhite, with only Powelson, Landis, and WVebster back for next yearis campaign. However, the return of the two leading players will form a sound nucleus for next yearis squad and prospects are not altogether dim. 'N-uw MILTON CROSZ Captain
