may F The Varsity Players lwho affectionately call themselves VP's l have rolled up twenty-six years of history. On January 20, l924, Wagner's Varsity Players first met and formed, Since that day the group has endeavored to give its patrons the best in dramatic art. Bringing Shakespeare back into Wagner theatre after a long absence, the VP's presented, in the Spring of l949, a lively production of The Taming of The Shrew . n Efforts in the Fall brought forth the eerie farce, Arsenic and Old Lace , an all-student production, and the gripping and fast-paced drama, Command Decision , directed by Prof. Nicholas A. Moss. The Players also presented the traditional Twelfth Night Festival of skits and one act plays. A thriving group, the membership of the club has increased during the past year and hundreds of dollars' worth of new, permanent equipment has been acquired. OFFICERS President . . . . ..... D ffm During the past year, the Deutscher Kreis, the women's club for German speaking stu- dents, continued its activities with an increased number of members. Its regular meetings again consisted ot singing, and discussions aimed at encouraging the study and apprecia- tion of the German language and culture. The highlights of the year were the Goethe Bicentennial Festival in October, l949, and the annual Weihnachtsfest, the Christmas party in the German tradition.
