DR. STEEN O The Wagner College A Cappella Choir, well known for many years as one of the better college choirs, achieved its greatest suc- cesses this year. Under the direction of its nationally famous direc- tor, Dr. Sigvart Steen, who combined a nucleus of upper classmen with a large group of freshmen, the Choir won the hearts of many on its three-week tour through New York, Pennsylvania, Massa- chusetts, and Connecticut this past winter. By many it has been acclaimed as the best college choir in the East. They, truly, deserve the respect and admiration of us, the Student Body. 86

The Student Christian Association is Wagner's one all-inclusive student religious organization. During the year, the SCA presented a variety of activities in which students could participate, Bi-monthly meetings were held at which such eminent churchmen as Dr. L. Foster Wood, and Dr. Paul C, White were heard, Vesper services led by students were conducted on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, Sunday School classes were held on the hill, and the Association again sponsored the Cam- pus Community Chest drive, including the second annual Carnival. A new service this year was the presenta- tion ot full length movies on campus. Other students gave their time and energy to com- munity service projects through the Christian Action group. Through these activities, the Student Christian Association hopes to present the message of God's love for all mankind, and to develop and strengthen rich and effective personal faith within each member of the Wagner College family. ze- The Pre-Seminary Association was organ- ized to serve the ministerial students of all denominations at Wagner in their educational, recreational, and social needs. At the regular monthly meetings there is usually a prominent speaker, followed by a discussion. All students preparing for full-time Christian service, are invited to attend these meetings. Some of the topics discussed recently were, leadership train- ing schools, the National Lutheran Council, and the philosophy of religion. The association sponsors a team in the intra-mural basketball league. The highlight of the year's activities is the farewell banquet, in honor of the graduating members.
