D , The brothers of Sigma Delta Phi take deep pride in know- ing that theirs was the first fraternity organized at Wagner College. lt is now in its twenty-eighth year, having been origi- nally organized as an honorary society. Through the achieve- ment of the fraternity's ideals of scholarship, participation in extra-curricular activities, and close fellowship, each brother seeks to bring renown first to his Alma Mater, and secondly to Sigma. The brothers held a highly successful dance, Kickoff, in October, and took the initiative in supporting the football team by chartering a bus to the Hofstra game. Many Wagner students availed themselves of this opportunity. At the Student Body Banquet, Sigma instituted the pres- entation of an award to the English major achieving the high- est degree of excellence in his field. A similar award will be given each succeeding year. The fraternity was deeply saddened by the passing, dur- ing the summer, of Brother John Koestner, retired faculty member. Although many of the brothers graduated in the Class of l95O, we leave with the firm conviction that those who re- main will carry on our fraternal spirit unblemished after us.
