Kappa' ,-45444 Kappa Sigma Alpha was organized at Wagner in l93O for the express purpose of promoting the loyalty of its brothers to Wagner College and of effecting a greater realization and attainment of their scholastic, cultural and spiritual ideals. The underlying fraternal feeling is based on the desire to pro- duce a closer relationship and a deeper consideration and understanding among the students at Wagner. lt is the cos- mopolitan spirit which pervades the activities ofthe Fraternity at all times. Demonstrating its extra-curricular as well as its scholastic interest in school activities, the Fraternity presents three awards, the Kappa Sigma Alpha in Education, the Kappa Sigma Alpha football award to the year's outstanding player on the Wagner Football Team, and the Gordon Lathrope Scholastic Cup. The highlights of the school year for Kappa were the winning of the First Annual Float Parade award, the Twentieth Annual Banquet, and the annual dance in May. Master Frater. . D , The brothers of Sigma Delta Phi take deep pride in know- ing that theirs was the first fraternity organized at Wagner College. lt is now in its twenty-eighth year, having been origi- nally organized as an honorary society. Through the achieve- ment of the fraternity's ideals of scholarship, participation in extra-curricular activities, and close fellowship, each brother seeks to bring renown first to his Alma Mater, and secondly to Sigma. The brothers held a highly successful dance, Kickoff, in October, and took the initiative in supporting the football team by chartering a bus to the Hofstra game. Many Wagner students availed themselves of this opportunity. At the Student Body Banquet, Sigma instituted the pres- entation of an award to the English major achieving the high- est degree of excellence in his field. A similar award will be given each succeeding year. The fraternity was deeply saddened by the passing, dur- ing the summer, of Brother John Koestner, retired faculty member. Although many of the brothers graduated in the Class of l95O, we leave with the firm conviction that those who re- main will carry on our fraternal spirit unblemished after us.
