fwuzcia 71g 70 . FAD, To one who has made his profession more than a job. To one who has combined real love for his subject with a deep and lasting interest in his students, the Kallista l95O is respectfully and proudly dedicated. Coming to Wagner from McPherson College in Kansas, in T944, Dr. Francis F. Wayland became the second member of Wagner's small History Department. ln l948, he became head of that department and since then it has grown to be one of the larg- est departments in the school. Besides being the Chairman of a department, Dr. Wayland has found time to be Faculty Adviser to many clubs, he also is an active member of the American Histor- ical Association, The American Academy of Political and Social Science, and the Society of American Historians. Dr. Wayland has written one book of major importance and he has published many articles of lasting value to the historian. ln Dr. Wayland's own words, yes indeedy , he has been and continues to be a very busy man . . .
