Black W Glad THE purpose of the W club, which was organized in the spring semester of '48, is to foster greater interest in support of Wagner's athletic teams in their com- petition with other schools. The emphasis is upon sportsmanship and the will to win. To become eligible for membership in the club, a student has to win a block W letter-award for active participation in a major varsity sport. The athletic group sponsored a banquet for all former lettermen last November on the night preceding the homecoming football game. At the banquet, President Langsam, Dean Bacher, Reverend Frederick Sutter, and the Messrs Barkley, Collins, Howell, Lunday, Reagan, and White were presented with gold keys to signify honorary membership in the club. The W club cooperates with the Board of Athletic Control in improving team facilities and providing pro- grams for athletic games. President . . Vice President Secretary . . Treasurer . Publicity .
