614106054 THE Wagner College Music Club, which was inactive during the war years, was reorganized during the past year. lt is a club made up of both students and professors who show unusual interest in music of all types. lts pur- pose is the furtherance of the cultural understanding of music on the campus, and the acquaintance and fellowship of those who have the same musical interests. Various types of music are presented at the meetings, through the medium of records and personal perform- ances by both members and invited guests. QA: ..' 'tile ai' ami GMM Glad THE Wagner College Chess Club, formed during the Fall semester of I948, has been fortunate enough to accomplish its scheduled aims for the year. These aims were: to receive a school charter, to form a small but complete Chess library, and to stimulate interest in the game of chess here upon the hill. The club has already been recognized as an organization by the famous Staten Island Chess Club, which is known throughout the Chess World. Having accomplished its preliminary aims and duties, the Chess Club is now concentrating upon forming a Chess Team with which it hopes to engage many of Wagner's traditional rival colleges next semester. The team will revolve around the five strongest players in the organization. This will not only encourage competition in the club itself, but will also act as an incentive as well as a goal for the club members. Under the guidance of Professor Wildermann, the club hopes to continue progressing in the future as it has in the past year. ' Officers President . . . . DOUGLAS LAWRENCE Vice President . . . .
