These five students put a spell over the audience as they spelled their way to victory in the spelling bee. Elaine Mehollin, Mary Lyon, Lucy Miller, john Grow, and Tom Cranston stand with Mr. Holmes as Mr. Burk- holder presents awards to them. Gary Harris and Ted Barger have sat here so long waiting for a move that neither can remem- ber whose move it is. This was one of the semi- final games in the chess club tournament. In the background we can see several others playing the mind-challenging game. .These are the peacemakers of W'. H. S. These seven-jane Gilbert, Sue Lyon , Sue Barden, Bob Miragliotta, Marcy Schenck, Pat Perkins, and Carole Simpson-won the local Prince of Peace contestsg and Pat placed second in the district.
