In appreciation for the use of the library facilities the Junior Tri Teens help with special Job like decorating the bulletin board Hanging up bright book Jackets for a career display are three members of the cabinet Gerrv Scheehle Linda Lucas and Gretchen Hunsberger Junior Trl Teens An impressive candlelight ceremony marked the official opening of Junior Tri Teens this year In the darkened audi torium the oflicers spoke on the goals and ideals of Tr1 Teens Then the old mem bers pinned red and white membership ribbons on the new members and lighted their candles Much was done this vear by Junior Tri Teens to make the monthly meetings more interesting and meaningful Many of the meetings were held in the library with refreshments served afterward The girls used a patriotic opening and gave the devotional periods greater emphasis Among the programs were a lecture by Surprising things turn up in the lost and found department U sula Kindllng wonders vxho is feeling his way blindly around school rather than pay a penny to claim his glasses. Grace Huns- berger is thinking This shoe is strong but odor isnt everything. a beautician a skit on school spirit and a talk about enjoying books and libraries A serxice project of the group was tak ing over the lost and found which had been kept in the office Each night after school two girls collected any items left on the lockers and they stored them in Room 202 Their charge was a penny to redeem each article Helping to plan the Tr1 Teen Formal held on the first of December was one of the big activities of the yeai Actually attending the dance was even more ex citing especially because Moonlight Mist was the first formal dance for most of the freshman members
