From the subdued of the projectionists and library staff at work to e hilarious shouts on the band bus after a football me, the voices of W.H.S. organizations are making emselves heard. Different as they are, all voices bel g, because the groups they represent are an integr part of W.H.S. That makes a place for even the u ontrollable chatter of the Tri- Teens or the noisy hor play of the stage crew! Taking time to list n to these voices, one finds them surprisingly distinc e. For example, there are the carefully spoken 6mo estri Vd.? of the Spanish Club, the forceful ratory of the N .F.L., and the lovely four-part harmo of the choir-each characteristic and unique. Be- cause of the relaxed, friendly atmosphere, visitors like to drop in at Room 308 dur- ing fourth period. fThey may find the choir singing 'tHappy Birthday to them too!J Vocal exercises and theory drills played an important part in the class work of the choir this year. This training was helpful, not only in improving their tone quality and music knowledge, but also in increas- ing their accuracy in a cappella singing. Although the choir concentrated main- ly on programs for W.H.S., they gained additional experience this year by pre- senting assemblies in Centralized, Lin- coln, and Franklin Schools. The most en- joyable activity of the year was the carol- ing and the party at Christmas time. 'iNow let me feel you exhale, says Mr. Sears. Most of the choir members find that breathing side- ways is a difiicult process, but Dave Weaver seems to have learned the trick to it. Special projects in general sci- ence class usually require a great deal of time and patience. Suddenly aware that a Junior-Senior Ban- quet isn't free, they pitched in and made record-breaking profits from their maga- zine sale. In March, budding actors and actresses made their debut in the success- ful class play, Dino. Through all their ac- tivities the Class of '58 gained valuable ex- perience in leadership and responsibility. Truly the Class of '57 leaves W.H.S. in capable hands!
