BUSINESS EDUCATION P.O.O. teaches the skills needed in office work with work on machines. Business education equips students with skills necessary for employment in the busi- ness world. Typing, shorthand and prepara- tory office occupations develop the student's ability to apply their skills in office employ- ment. Enthusiastic students work hard each day to master these subjects as progress is essential. Typing is a course needed by all college bound students, as well as the business students. Correct procedures and specialized tech- niques are built through drills, intensive prac- tice, and a review of fundamentals. The P. O. O. course provides the students with a basic knowledge of the principles of office procedures and equipment, thus the students see each step and its relation to the whole. In the shorthand class students develop their ability to recognize sounds and to record quickly the sounds they hear. New listening stations aid shorthand students in their work. 28
