Dedication We pay tribute to you as one of the most devoted members of the Wadesboro High School faculty. As we have taken each step toward adulthood, you have always been by our side to help us and to lift us when we stumble. You have been wherever we needed you to guide us, advise us, and whennecessary, to push us toward our goals. In sincere appreciation for your guidance, patience, and friendship during the last four years, we, the seniors of 1961, dedicate the Tiger Tales to you, Mrs. Mildred Johnson.

Foreword We have now reached the first plateau in our climb up the stairway of life. It is with regret that we leave our past but with faith that we strive to even greater heights. The going so far has not been easy; there have been times when we stumbled along the way. Our teachers and our friends were always there to help. Life is not a glass staircase. ' There are splinters and ragged edges; but with each experience, we learn how to climb unharmed andto face the world unafraid. These are the stairs we looked longingly at before entering high school, as well as with fear our first day as freshmen. With tears in our hearts and pride in our walk, we descended gradu- ation night, never again to ascend them as students. And yet, the stairs remain, a sym- bol that we have greater heights to ob- tain. To you, the Seniors of '61, this year's Tiger Tales is dedicated. Through it we hope you can look where you have already been--through precious memories. Nevertheless, wecannot climb backwards, only forward.
