Some of its duties were con- trolling traffic in the halls between classes and keeping order in the lunch line in the cafeteria during the lunch periods. The president, Steve Bolick, was in charge of a number of the chapel programs. The Student Council’s sponsor was Mr. Strictland. The Student Patrol was on duty at a number of the crossings around the school where the students had to cross the street. They also were on duty at the football, basketball, and_base- ball games. These meets were held at Rockingham, North Carolina and Chesterfield, South Carolina. Practices were held every afternoon at the race track where the team jumped hurdles and threw discs.
