BENJAMIN BRASINGTON BarBAaRA FE. FAULKNER ELIZABETH ANN BUFF Our second year brought many spelling words and our first sweethearts. Our third year was passed with the great expectation of becoming fourth graders and the oldest primary building. Too soon, it seemed as if we were progressing farther and farther. We found ourselves in the fifth grade with a new way of school before us. We ran every time a in the BRENDA JEAN FAULKNER Patricia ANN Burns VERNON W, Grabdy LErroy CARTER high school student looked our way, but secretly we admired them as if they were made of pure gold. The pages of our memory book are turning fast, but we stop, and happy thoughts come our way as we see the picture of Mrs. Gulledge and Mrs. Huntley, our exceptional seventh grade teachers. We were rapidly growing up and were a problem in many ways, but we emerged as fine eighth grade students. GARDNER

SENIOR CLASS Nancy E. ALLEN CLASS HISTORY “We'll remember always, graduation day’—the song continues but our school days are fast drawing to a close, Graduation will cling to our minds as the happiest part of our school career, but inside we will treasure the many little things that went to make our younger years something to remember forever. We will be sad when we leave our school, but it has been a happy experience that we, the class of ’57, have shared to- gether. ANN L. CoviNGcTOoN MartTHa DEESE As we take the key and unlock the clasp of our memory book, we turn to the first page and see Mrs. Liles, Miss Plunkett, and Mrs. McKinnon waiting for us on that memorable day in September 1945, when a very grown-up group of youngsters entered the first step of adulthood. That year we settled many difficulties and became involved in many more. HERMAN LyNwoop Dryer SarRA ELLEN ATKINSON MARGARET EDDINS.

SENIOR CLASS Mrs. Gaddy and Mrs. Roper did everything but pour knowledge into our heads the following year. We were hanging on the precipice of remaining young or forging ahead into our much longed for high school days. At last we were seen with small but significant certificates in our hands. During these years, our memory book added many new faces, and many more welcomed us as we entered high CHARLES B. HiILpRetTH RisDEN HAMILTON HILt. SHIRLEY GATEWOOD school. We were sorrowful whenever we lost someone from our class but happy to gain someone new. We were “lowly Freshmen,” but even to be recognized as such was better than not being recognized at all. Our sophomore year, we were gradually finding the pieces of the puzzle did fit together. Our class was taking its place and beginning to make advances, Our junior year was a highlight of all of our preceding HazEL ANNETTE HorRNE MARY GaATHINGS Joan HuFFMAN
