Varsity Squad Produces Commendable Record On August 1st, thirty-two anxious boys reported to their first practice session to begin preparing for the upcoming season. These young play- ers spent many long hours running offensive plays and perfecting their maneuvers and skills on defense. Handicapped by the lack of depth on the team, the 1978 squad found it necessary to build up self-confidence and morale. The varsity team ended the year with an even 5-5 mark. A captivating upset victory over arch- rival Hammond was the climax of the year. 1.
