STUDE T COUNCIL Officers Susie Osete, Debbie Saylor, Liz Velasquez, and Eddie Fleischer and Advisor Mrs. Nancy Morales directed the ac1ivities of the 1977-1978 Wade Carpenter junior High School Student Council. Stuco raised money by sponsoring dances, bake sales, coke and candy sales, and refreshment sales at Pima College to continue projects from previous years. School beautification progressed with additional landscaping and the placement of the fountain. Stuco also sponsored the second annual Pep Rally before the Delta League Championship game and a steak fry as the banquet for the fall sports participants. Stuco continued to sponsor many of the traditional school activities such as the Mardi Gras, Princess Dance, Teacher's Christmas Luncheon, Awards Assembly, and delivering Grams on holidays. Several new and interesting projects started this year. Stuco organized Christmas Caroling to replace Las Posadas and the Holiday Bazaar. Two of the most rewarding projects concerned people ouiside of the school. Stuco collected food, clothing, and toys to distribute to needy families in our school district at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Stuco also served as foster parents to two girls from a Sonoran orphanage and supplied them with things they needed and also enabled them to participate in many of our school activities. For all Student Council members, it was a busy and successful school year. EXECUTIVE COUNCIL FRONT, Mike Ivans, Irene Figueroa, Amalia Rojas, Jeanne Mayer.
