West vs. Tech .--1 WW is if VA' SEPT. ll-Waco Tech's spirited Trojans and Mart's bulky Panthers battled to a 14-14 deadlock in Waco's Municipal Stadium. Ellis Warrick romped 68 yards for Tech's first touchdown. Thomas Carpenter scored the other. Jesse Ingram booted both extra points. SEPT. I8-Tech's veteran Trojans slaughtered the Teague Lions, 49-O in Municipal Stadium and defi- nitely stamped themselves as strong contenders for the District 21-AA title. OCT. 2, Lampassas-Waco Tech's Trojans blasted over for a touchdown on an early break, then shattered the Lampassas Badgers 14-6. OCT. 9, Belton-Waco Tech's Trojans tasted defeat for the first time in losing a heartbreaker to Belton Tigers 7-2. The Trojans outdid the Tigers in every- V. is thing but the score, and rolled up an impressive edge in statistics. Tech got its safety in the last seconds of the game. Fred Ferguson, Ray Fikes, Bledsoe and Thomas sparked Tech's defense. OCT. lo, Taylor-Rebounding mightily from last week's bitter defeat, Waco Tech's veteran Trojans blasted, the winless Taylor Ducks 42-O. The longest run of the game was an 88-yard scamper by Ellis Warrick for a touchdown. OCT. 23, Marlin-Waco Tech's Trojans smashed Mar- lin's game-but-outmanned-BulIdogs 14-O, to roar into an early lead in the District 21-AA race. Jesse Ingram, who kept his perfect extra-point record alive by booting a pair, intercepted a Bulldog aerial and slithered 47 yards for the first Trojan touch- down in the second quarter.

It was backed with outstanding subs: Gene Black, Wilfred Schaeper, Eugene Schaeper, Lowell Elliott, and Danny Baxley. Selected on the All-District first team was Thomas Tipton and Melvin Heaton. Those winning places on the All-District second team were Dewey Slaughter, Thomas Carpenter and Jesse ln- gram. Tipton was a two 'year All-District man and was leading scorer for the Trojans with 307 points for season play. He had a 13.9 points average per game. Heaton, a junior, was captain of the Trojan five and was second leading scorer with 223 points. He had an average of l0.l points per game. , Eygena Schaapoe Lowell Elliott. The opening game was played in the beautiful new gym at Tech with the Trojans on top by a score of 56 to 47. The next night, journeying to Marlin in a dust storm, the Trojans won in a thrill packed game by a margin of 31 to 30. The Tech Trojans played Gatesville for Bi-District, and lost a heart-breaking game with a close score of 29 to 33, thus, ending a wonderful season for the Trojans.
