It has been truly said that good teachers effect eternity, because they never know where their influence stops. Here at Waco High the teachers can see how their influences help build Tigers. In the past year, students have had a deep understanding of the last paragraph in the Tiger Creed, which says, A lot of laughter, blood, sweat, and tears has gone into building TIGER traditions. They stand or fall with us. The DAISY CHAIN Staff presents this annual as a record of all the wonderful experiences of 1966. . V ,,-5.5 M . With understanding and zeal Miss Osborn has set about to produce students dedicated to todays world, yet ever mindful of the gifts of classical antiquity. RANDY LOFGREN In a very eventful, and truly memorable year for the Waco High Choral Department, THE GOLDEN VOICES carried the proudest traditions of Waco High into performance before Waco's public and critical U.I.L. judges. Beginning the year in October with a stirring rendition of Roy Ringwald's t'God's Trombonesf' It was evident that this newly named organization was to be heard. Then during the months of November and December extensive preparation was made for the pressing of a commercial Long-Playing record- ing entitled Sing We Now of Christmas. Members of Waco High had reason to be proud of this achievement and the peo- ple of Waco gave the recording an overwhelming reception. Two undertaking were the main task of the choir in the second semester. In April, at the U.I.L. Choir Contest, the GOLDEN VOICES took three first division ratings in concert and the Boys Chorus received a sweepstakes award for rating first in concert and sightreading. In May, to climax their challenging year, the department presented a full-scale pro- duction of Lerner Loewe's BRIGADOON in Waco Hall. The unprecedented success of this show told Wacoans and other Texans that the high traditions of the Waco High Choral De- partment were being upheld by devoted, energetic students who were proud to give their very best. ,, an l l it ig y L J f' we J, P ' y X O it ii H xl H O c ,. fh ' e it , T P 31 ' l c 1, .
