The Waco High School Chapter is affiliated with both the state and na- tional organizations. As a money-making project club members sold pro- grams at all home football games. During the Heart o'Texas Fair. the club was chosen to provide the l'Vaco Independent School District booth. The purpose of the attractive display was to acquaint fair visitors with the advantages of the D. E. program. In October the club began planning for the State Convention to be held in Austin February 28 to lllarch I. Each member chose the contest he wished to enter and a series of eliminations were held in each field. The win- ners in the various contests who represented the club in Austin were as follows: salesmanship. Alvin Lowranceg business speaking, Kathryn Haralson: job application and individual notebook, julia Tye. These winners competed in the State contests and each placed in the top ten in the finals. The club programs have featured sales demonstra- tions put on by representatives from local firms, discus- sions of merchandising problems by members and visitors. and the usual social occasions enjoyed by all the YV. H. S. clubs. Page 10 3
