Friends are an important aspect of everyone’s lives. They are there whether an Olympic gold medal is won or when a shoulder is needed to lean on, carrying each other through those highs and lows of life. They support each other in whatever avenue the other chooses to pursues they laugh, cry, do outrageous things, and spend practically every waking moment together!!! Friends are like little kids sharing secrets- hoarding, protecting, and valuing each other’s thoughts and feelings. Friendship is that unique relationship or bond between people. It is often difficult to penetrate that established bond because of the uncanny match; it is as if they are meant to be. Although everyone searches for different traits in a friend, trust, understanding, a good listener, fun to be with, caring seem to be the most important criteria. Friends are there with that pat on the back, that nudge on the shoulder, that smile, that glance directed your way or that high five to whose hidden meaning only they hold the key . . . they understand thru thick and thin. With the large number of students attending Wachusett, it is very easy to get lost in the mass confusion. For entering Freshmen, it proves an even greater feat. Wachusett can be overwhelming, ominous, and each new¬ comer greets Wachusett with skepticism. Where and if they are going to fit in seems to be the major concern. This one adjust¬ ment and transition most Wachusett stu¬ dents handle with much ease and expertise. Drawing from five towns there are many facets of Wachusett. Therefore, there is al¬ most a group for everyone, it is just that it takes a little time for one to become aquainted with Wachusett and to nestle into one group. It is not unusual to be tossed about as if one is a part of a pinball machine, or trying out for a particular sport, partici¬ pating in clubs or activities, aimlessly searching for classes or looking for that right group or nitch. Wachusett students seem to overcome and overlook these in¬ conveniences, and trudge on thru thick and thin always seeming to find their way. QUA Above: A lull: Aimee, John, and Jaimie take a breather while the coast is clear. Bottom left: It s not what you said, it’s how you looked when you said it: Andy, you ' ve got that mischievous look upon your face, what are you up to? Right: Open your eyes, Rob, to the possibilities!!! Opening
