Mr. Lengas: an educator unique in character. For the past 20 years he has enhanced Wachusett’s atmosphere with his sky blue pink, ” gee willikers” and various catchy pet names. Behind all these baffling linguistics, Mr. Lengas is a man of kindheartedness and true devotion. He has always kept himself involved as coach, advisor and teacher in addition to twelve years of dedication to the publication of the yearbook. Mr. Lengas will aways be remembered for the service he has given the Wachusett appe¬ tites with his sales of candy bars, coke, Goobers and Raisinets. For these reasons, and many more, the Class of 1976 wishes to dedicate their yearbook to Harry Lengas. 2

Yearbook Message from the Superintendent of Schools 1976 A year ago, a GAZETTE editorial entitled High School Consumers Speak” described students and recent graduates of two area high schools publicly reg¬ istering constmctive criticism of their schools. I should like to ask you to do the same. Our guidance office will ask your evaluation of your high school preparation one year and five years from now. But you don ' t have to wait for their questionnaire! Your comments in this case won ' t help you personally, but they will help those students who follow you, as post graduates’ comments have helped us improve things for you. Looking farther afield, we urge you to make your reactions known by means of CONSTRUCTIVE criticism - courteously, diplomatically, but candidly - to ANY organization which provides a service to you either as a public agency or for a price. Doing your share involves not only helping provide services, but also helping those who decide WHAT services to provide and HOW. Many of us do listen! Consumerism can be a positive force as well as a negative one. We wish you happiness, the sleep which follows honest labor, the satisfaction of having created something of quality, and the peace which comes from within. MR.
