To the Members of the Class of 1 975 As you complete your high school education, you will discover that the real journey of your lives has just begun. As you travel the paths you have chosen, I feel that experience will teach you that life is not a book with old age as a last chapter, but rather a series of short stories, each with its own unfolding. Through each new adventure on the way I know that you will learn that true happiness comes to those who give fully of themselves to what they believe in and to their fellowman. We live in a time that offers unparalleled opportunities for each individual and for our nation. I am confident that you will take hold of these opportunities to achieve greater good for your¬ selves and for our country. Where there is life, there is hope; and in you — the graduates of our high schools — there is the fullness of life. Your fellow citizens place their hope in you, and on their behalf I wish you every success for the future. Neal T. Skillings Principal Emeritus To the Members of the Class of 1 975, It’s a distinct privilege to have the opportunity each year to write a few words of parting to a graduating class. The very act of writing such a paragraph requires that you look back and remember with fondness the accomplishments and the good times associated with each class. Too often in the day-to-day encounters with persons we get too involved with the problems and the struggles and it takes an effort to step back and recall the good and solid relationships that have been built. I look back with considerable joy at your years at Wachusett and look ahead to even greater achievements from each of you in the years to come. It is my hope that each of you will find the time to step back and look in retrospect at your years at Wachusett. The friends made, the lessons learned, and the relationships forged with teachers, administrators and others will, I am sure, mean even more to you as time goes by. Be assured that we will continue to think of you and ask after your progress as you embark on yet another chapter in your life. My best to each and everyone of you — may the future be bright and your efforts be rewarded. Keep in touch. Very truly yours. Harold M. Lane, Jr. Director of Secondary Education and Principal 21

ADMINISTRATION Mr. David Johnson — Business Manager Mr. William Carey — Assistant Superintendent Mr. Peter Farrelly — Associate Superintendent Superintendent ' s Office Secretaries Edward Yaglou Superintendent Please keep in touch! We need your feedback in order to improve our school for the classes to follow you. We wish you well as you step out to prove your worth: to your¬ self, your family, and the wider community. Many of you will grow to assume leadership positions in society. Some will break loose from parental and community sanctions, reject all author¬ ity in our society, and consider yourselves “free,” concerned only with what YOU want. Your freedom may be exhilarating until you meet others whose view of freedom is similar. I believe that you will eventually conclude th at their rights stop where yours begin, and vice-versa. Furthermore, the “many will learn soon, and the “some will learn later, that authority very much involves responsibility for, and service to, those led. The REaL leader does not sit down to eat until he knows that there is food for all who work for him. That kind of authority DESERVES our respect. 20
