WACHUSETT REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL HOLDEN. MASSACHUSETTS To the Kembers of the Class of 1965? Tr.is time, like all times, is a very good one, if we but know what to do with it. The above quotation is more applicable today, in your generation, than it was in Emerson ' s, back in 1837, when it was written. The good in your peneration lies in your opportunity to better yourself through education. Your high school education is that stepping stone to a more enriched and productive life. Leaders are badly needed in our trying times. We look forward to you for that leadership. Sincerely, AAR. AAARTIN F. WHITE Assistant Principal MRS. ELIZABETH CHANDLER MRS. PEARL SMITH MRS. SHIRLEY BJORNLUND

THANK YOU JEANNE During our final year at Wachusett we were hosts to Miss Jeanne de Villiers- of Capetown, South Africa, and Mr, Gurcharan Singh Bhalla of New Delhi, India. The pleasure that we received from knowing and talking with them was matched only by their eagerness to learn about our way of life. We To the Class of ' 65, I am very grateful for this opportunity to express my gratitude for the many wonderful experiences that this year as an American Field Service Student at your school has afforded me. The American Field Service is an international organ¬ ization; students come to the ' Jnited States from over sixty foreign countries. They come, hoping to bring a closer understanding of their own country - its customs, its people, its ideals, and its beliefs. They hope, too, to gain an understanding of the united States, and to relay this understanding to their family and friends at home. Having the privilege of living in your country has also provided me with a chance to become a better and more knowledgeable citizen of South Africa. This may sound paradoxical, but this year has necessitated a closer study of my country, and thus enabled me to appreciate so many tbincs which 1 had previously taken for granted. My year at Wachusett has been a very happy and rewarding one. It has been a school life very different to that which I led at home, and sometimes I found these differences hard to understand. But it will be more than knowledge acquired from books that I shall be taking home with me. I shall carry home with me many happy memories, lasting friendships, as well as a truer impression of American people. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my American family, the staff and students at Wachusett, and all my friends in Holden for making this year possible. Very sincerely, C P. 0.
