DIANE BYRON In quietness lies hidden friendship. Diane brings a quiet, friendly atmosphere wherever she goes. Her pleasant and cooperative ways have won her many friends. To some, Diane probably seems quiet and shy, but to those who know her, she is a sincere, lively friend. We all wish her success in her college career. French Club 3; Girls ' Intramural Club 2, 3; Yearbook Staff 4. JEAN ANGELA CALCIA She is witty, gay, and clever, yet scorns not endeavor. Witty, vivacious, ingenious and intelligent are the four traits which best describe Jeanie. Dependability and hard work make her a friend to all who know her. Always busy, always bright, she carries the task of Editor-in-chief of the Wachusett Echo. We know she ' ll be a hard worker in the business world. ROBERT HENRY CAREY The deepest rivers flow with the least sound. Bob, so tall and so quiet, is one of those mysterious Aggie boys. The shy type who has little to say, he nevertheless possesses much wit. The future holds in store for him an occupation in dairy farming. Future Farmers of America 1, 2, 3, 4. BERNARD OSCAR CARLSON A little mischief now and then is relished by the best of men. Bernie, with his jocular manner and friendly ways may be seen many times driving his car or crawling under it to fix something that ' s broken, for he is a car enthusiast. Bernie will probably find something to do with cars in the Service, which he plans to enter after graduation. JOHN GARY CARLSON Speech be better than silence. Of course it ' s a Ford! Is there any other kind? This is Jack ' s best known expression and it has become a trademark with him. Besides talking about cars, Jack ' s many hobbies include hunting and fishing. He has become quite an authority on hunting—one good look at his rifle collection proves it. He wants to teach high school and we all wish him the best of luck, knowing that he will never fail in anything that he sets his mind to. JOHN WILLIAM CARLSON All do so like saints appear we know not who ' s the devil here. Jack can brighten up any group with his wit and personality. One of his weaknesses is women, and one of his interests is drawing. He has proven both to us in the past four years. We know he will succeed in college and the service. Intramural Football 3; Intrampral Softball 2; Intramurol Volleyball 3, 4; Monitor 3; Track 3, 4. PAUL HOWARD CHRISTENSEN The quiet ones are those who gain the most. A hard worker, Chris is interested in all kinds of sports. He has enlivened many a class with his quick wit, and his sincerity is a quality which will insure success and happiness for him. The Navy will be receiving a valuable member, when he joins this summer. Intramural Basketball 3, 4. DIANE MARY COOKE There ' s none whose style is so neat, whose smile is so sweet. Cookie is best known for her love of fun. Her warm personality and radiant smile have won her many friends. Cookie ' s interest and ability in sports have been a qreat asset to our girl ' s basketball team. Her inexhaustible supply of energy for cheering the team on to victory is always evident at sports events. Diane ' s winning ways are a sure road to success and we all wish her the best of luck in her secretarial work. MARILYN MARIE BOISVERT It is o friendly heart that has plenty of friends. Marilyn ' s cheerful and friendly disposition has aided her in gaining many friends. She was a good sport when it came time to give oral talks in English, receiving a great sigh of relief from her classmates. Marilyn ' s enthusiasm and industrious ways are noticed by everyone. Echo Staff 2; Intramural Club 2, 3, 4; Pep Squad 2. SEVERELY ANN BOULANGER True to her word, her work, and her friends. She is that charming girl with pretty, dark hair who always claims, I like boys from my own town best! Bev gives the appearance of being quiet, but just ask her friends about this! She plans a commercial career. Future Homemakers of America 4; Faculty Manager ' s tvp : st 4; Guidance Office helper 4; Junior Prom Committee 3; Pep Squad 2; Senior Prom Committee 4. GERALD ERNEST BORDEUR Athletics, his hobby; good nature, his guide. Gerry is one of those people you just can ' t help liking. A carefree, happy-po-lu ' ky attitude often conceals his diligence and assiduousness in any field to which he applies himself. His infectious and nvs ' frevous sense of humor topped by a keen mind and sincerity make him a person well worth knowing. Basketball 3, 4; Baseball 2. 3, 4; Football 2, 3, 4; Gym Leader Corps 2, 3, 4; Honor Roll 1, 2, 3, 4; Monitor 4; Varsity Club 3, 4 (Treasurer 3, 4). JOHN ALDEN BROWN Be gone dull care! Thou and I shall never agree. Who is the mischievous lad with the red hair? That ' s Johnny, always into something, always making noise. With friendliness in his heart, mis ' h : ef in his eye, and sincerity in his soul, he will surely be a success in whatever field he chooses. HAROLD FRANK BURNHAM Beware the fury of a patient man. Looking for Hal? He ' s usually in the darkroom, developing photographs. The tall, blond, good-looking lad is always willing to give a helping hand to his classmates. His warm, friendly manner is sure to lead him to a great success. JOAN BUTLER Science is as deep as eternity; Speech, as shallow as time. Joanie is one of the honor students in o ’r class. A fondness for acting is only one of her numerous interests. Her winn’nq smile is always waiting for everyone. Even when the day seems darkest you can find light in her heart. Monitor 3, 4; NaHonal Thespian Society 3, 4, (Secretary 4); Spanish Club 3, 4; Willard Club 3, 4; Yearbook Staff 4. JOYCE IRENE BUXTON Serious and well behaved, never any trouble gave. Jovce, serious but fun-loving at heart. She has many talents, one of which is skill in art. Her abilities and willingness to work are sure to bring her great rewards in whatever she does. She plans to enter college in the fall. WILLIAM WALTON BURROWS JR. School? I suppose it is a necessary evil. Bill is our 0 tdoor fellow. He loves to hunt, camp, ski. and swim. He feels that school could be eliminated w’thout too much trouble and tears. Although he appears to be lazy, his friends know better. On the dance floor he ' s hard to beat with his fancy steps. He plans eventually to become a forest ranger after his duty to the government is completed in the Air Force. Intramural Football Champion 2; Ski Club 4; Track Team 1.

RICHARD COOPER Silence is golden. Skeezix is a quiet but industrious student. His ability to tinker with cars should help him in his plans to attend a technical school. MAUREEN GAIL COVE A jolly girl, a live-wire, the kind of which you never tire. Reeney is gay, exciting, enthusiastic, and always has ideas for good times. Her cheerful personality has won her many friends. She ' ll have her patients in two kinds of stitches when she follows through her plans for a nursing career. Homeroom Representative 2; Intramural Club 2, 3, 4 (President 4); Junior Prom Committee 3; Latin Club 2; Majorettes 3, 4; Senior Play 4; Spanish Club 3, 4 (Treasurer 3, 4). DIANN COYLE To know her is a lasting treat. Diann has not been here for long, but everyone knows her. Her ability to make friends has made her one of the most popular seniors. We all know what an excellent cheerleader she is. Diann hopes to go to William and Mary, and major in math. If her success here in such a short time is any example of her ability, we ' re sure she will be an outstanding student. PEARL ELSIE CRAWFORD In quietness lies hidden friendship. Although Pearl isn ' t one to always talk, she doesn ' t overlook the fact that friends are an asset. She is a lasting friend with a personality to fit her mme. Pearl enjoys collecting popular records. Her plans for the future are to become a secretary. JUDITH JOY CROSBY The happiness of the heart causeth a fair color in the face. Small, blonde, fun-loving—these words describe Blondie. Everyone knows her because wherever she goes she leaves her mark. Her pleasing smile and light, airy conversation, combined with her magnetic personality will assure her great success as a dental assistant. Intramural Club 2, 3, 4; Monitor 4. WILLIAM JAMES CUNNINGHAM A good player unequalled, a sportsman complete; a good one to follow, a hard one to beat. The name Jim Cunningham is familiar to everyone, for Jim is a natural leader. For two consecutive years his classmates have shown their approval of his methods by electing him president of the class. In the fall Jim can always be found on the football field with the team. In the field of track, Jimmy became interested in the discus throw, and he soon developed the form and ability of a mature athlete. RICHARD EARL DALTON No one knows what he can do till he tries. Digger is one of our many classmates who entered Wachusett after its initial year, but he has the distinction of coming from Alabama. Quiet and unassuming, a smile and a word of greeting will invariably be returned by his shy, friendly smile. Success at the General Electric Apprentice Course is assured him, for loyalty and perseverance are most welcome traits. Dick ' s an unassuming fellow, but a hard working, loyal friend when you get to know him. He favors the field of aviation whether it be planes in model or actual size.
