At times we wonder if “Howie” can always be as quiet as he appears. We doubt it. His interest in outdoor activities may lead to a future in that field. “Her disposition is blithe and merry.” Holden High School. Glee Club 1; Traveling Assembly Team 1, 2; Majorette 1, 2, 3; Speech Club 2, 3: Junior Prom Com- mittee 3; Football Refreshment Committee 4; Dance Committee 4; Monitor 4. Always ready with some witty words and a sweet smile — that’s “Ruthie”; or. if one needs some help, she ' s ready to assist in any way possible. Her efficiency and effortless learning have reaped their harvest. The secretarial field will acquire another good secretary in “Ruthie.” “Let thy speech be better than silence, or be silent.” North High School (Worcester), Holden High School. Basketball 3; Football 3, 4. Quiet and unassuming, “Phil” goes about his work silently but does his job well. We all know him for his ability on the football field. He plans to continue his education at college. ivarz “As merry as the day is long.” Rutland High School. Baseball 1, 2 (Manager 2); Basketball 1, 2 ; Monitor 4. Charles is a happy-go-lucky member of the class, whose favorite pastime is cheering people up with his vast store of jokes. His witty answers in class have never failed to give us a laugh. He plans to enter Brandeis University to study law. Best wishes. “Dimple in her chin, devil within.” Holden High School. A cheery “Hi,” a pleasant smile, and sympathetic under- standing are characteristic of “Maggie.” All her classmates have found her to be a true friend. Her chosen career is nursing. With his speaking ability we are sure he ' ll go far in radio or television. pjloan Frances “She is pretty to walk with And witty to talk with.” Rutland High School. A charming little miss with a pleasing personality, Joan has won many friends. She has always displayed class and school spirit by her willingness to help and has done a remarkable job as cheerleader. She has taken the Commercial Course and plans to do secretarial work.

His quick wit and ready smile will be greatly missed. “A blithe heart maketh a blooming visage.” Major Edwards High School. Reggie ' s’ ' jubilant nature has made her popular with everyone. Her pleasing smile and light, airy conversation, combined with a magnetic personality, will assure her of future success. “She is witty, gay, and clever. Yet scorns not high endeavor.” Holden High School. Her Tpana” smile works magic and has won her many friends. She will be a welcome addition to Worcester Junior College. “Happy am I; from care I ' m free.” Rutland High School. Chorus 1. 2, 3; American Junior Red Cross; Class Secretary 3: Junior Prom Committee 3. Tall, blonde, fun-loving — these words describe Mary. Her willingness to help others and to do well whatever she undertakes assures us that she will be a success in her secretarial career. “When I do vow a friendship. I’ll perform it to the last article.” Lancaster High School, Major Edwards High School. Basket- ball 1, 2; Chorus 3; Junior Prom Committee 3. Attractive , friendly and witty characterize “Jan” to a T. She has the knack of getting along with others and is always around when needed. “Jan’’ is tops in the commercial field and has a job with a law firm waiting after graduation. “I like work; it fascinates me. I could sit and look at it for hours.” Major Edwards High School. Basketball 1: Junior Prom Committee 3; Dance Committees 3; Ring Committee 4; Christmas Play (Stage Scenery) 4. Although he is the shy type when girls are around, “Howie” is well-known among the boys. The jovial twinkle in his eyes indicates the deviltry he possesses. We wish him all the success possible in the future. “She may look serious and she may look shy. But she’s full of fun, ’twixt you and I.” Major Edwards High School. Anne is one of the quiet members of our class — until you know her, and then she is friendly and talkative. She enjoys reading and is interested in interior decorating. Her future plans are indefinite.

Her tap dancing and trumpet playing have made her known to many. A good-natured, quiet girl, “Toni” is always cheerful, willing and agreeable, no matter what comes up. She plans to become a secretary, and we know with her qualifications she will be a success. Yjina s4nn Stewart “Her air, her manners, all who saw admired; The joy of youth and health her eyes display’d, And ease of heart her every look convey’d.” Major Edwards High School. Softball 1. 2; Chorus 1, 2, 3; Sophomore Hop Committee 2; Basketball Manager 2. 3; Typist, School Paper 3; Cheerleader 3; Junior Prom Com- mittee 3; Girls’ State Representative 3; Junior Play Committee Yearbook Staff it. Expressive dark eyes and a sweet smile are only two of Nina’s many assets. Her cheery disposition combined with her love of tap dancing, swimming, bowling, and cooking give her a well-rounded personality. With her enthusiasm for work, we are sure success awaits her in the commercial field. “The reward of a thing well done is to have done it.” Classical High School (Worcester). He has that certain art of making friends easily, which will surely be a help in his future plans of becoming a pharmacist. “Such skill at the flute is rare indeed.” Leominster High School. Class Treasurer 1; Orchestra 1; Editorial Staff, Class Paper 3; Band (Librarian) 4. Nancy, despite her quiet, reserved manner, has a very gentle and friendly way. Her flute playing is by far her outstanding talent, and she is able to boast of occupying the first chair in the flute section of the All-State Band. Her patient and kind disposition should be a great asset in the fulfillment of her hopes to become a church youth advisor. “Slight is the subject but the praise not small.” Lenox School. Glee Club 1; Baseball 1; Basketball 1; Soccer I, 2; Dramatics 1, 2, 3, 4; J. V. Skiing 2; School Paper 2, 3; J. V. Hockey 3; Band 4; Senior Play 4. Who’s that sending the class into a fit of laughter? None other than Carl. Never is there a sad heart when he is around. He plans to go to college and then add a V.M.D. (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) after his name.
