I at r Lei a Jjune C hiicl ‘A heart full of cheer makes a face full of sunshine.’ Commerce High School (Worcester), Major Edwards High School. Basketball 1; Field Hockey 1; Chorus 1, 3. “Pat” is a bright, sunny person, who is easy to know. One of her hobbies is sewing, at which she excells. She is one of our lucky graduates — she plans to be married in June and go to Germany with her husband. “Sunny people make cloudy days seem short.” Holden High School. Honor Roll 1, 2; Glee Club 1, 3, 4; Pep Squad 3; Junior Prom Committee 3; Dramatics 4; Yearbook Staff 4. A little Chinese and a mood a day are her doctrine. “Chop” makes the worst things seem the funniest; and wherever she goes, warm, friendly laughter echoes after her. Clare will “make new r friends but keep the old” as she goes to college. “The hand that hath made you fair Hath made you good.” Holden High School. Class Secretary 1; Football Dance Com- mittee 3; Dramatics 4; Yearbook StafF 4. Margaret is one of those people we cannot get along without but seldom appreciate. She is always cheerfully ready to answer the call of duty and never shirks responsibilities. The business world needs more people like her. “A jest is worth a thousand groans in any market.” Holden High School. Basketball 1; Magazine Drive, Home- room Manager 3; Monitor 4. Not a better friend could one find anywhere. “Garg” is a sports fan and a loyal supporter of his school. He looks to the Air Force for his immediate future. “In her twas natural to please.” Holden High School. Senior Dance Committee 4. Ask her anything and this Princeton lass will accommodate you. “Janie’s” shy but mischievous ways have made her nice to remember, too nice to forget. “A smile for all, a welcome glad, A jovial, coaxing way he had.” Major Edwards High School. Junior Prom Committee 3; Junior Play Committee 3. A devilish twinkle in his eye, a broad, friendly grin, and a happy-go-lucky disposition — that ' s our friend George. His favorite pastime is arguing, and he can always find some very convincing points. George plans to join the Navy, where he’s sure to make many friends. “Her red ha ir is but a crown of glory.” Holden High School. Sophomore Assembly 2; Junior Assembly 3; Football Dance Committee 3; Dramatics 4; Ring Committee 4. Many a girl has loved Alyce ' s red hair, which goes well with her bright personality. She plans to go into nurses’ training.

“A jolly girl, a live wire; The kind of which you never tire.” Major Edwards High School. Honor Society 3; Junior Play 3; Junior Prom Committee 3; Yearbook Staff 4. Marilyn the vivacious, the radiant, the colorful, always h as a cheery greeting for everyone. She is so constantly enthusi- astic and has such a keen sense of humor that she injects life into the most dejected of spirits. She will make an ideal medical secretary. “A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance.” Rutland High School. Good Government Candidate 1, 2; Glee Club 1, 2, 3; Cheerleader 1, 2, 3 (Captain 3); Student Council 1, 2, 3 (Reporter 3); Red Cross Representative 2: Christmas Play 3; Junior Prom Committee 3; Senior Play 4. Where there’s fun and frolic, there ' s “Prudy.” She is one of those fun-loving people who add life to any party. “Prudy” is not a bit shy about making known the whys and wherefores of her ideas. Her plans for the future are as yet uncertain. “The days that make us happy make us wise.” Holden High School. Basketball Manager 1; Band 1, 2, 3; Orchestra 1, 2, 3; Chorus 2. Who’s that bombing by in the gray Chevy? None other than ' “Ron ' 5 — “Ron” of the friendly smile and cheery “Hello.” He is interested in things mechanical and may further his education in this field. “You are the very spirit of a lady.” Rutland High School. Pro Merito 3; Honor Roll 1, 2, 3; Good Government Day Representative 1; Glee Club 1, 2, 3, 4 (Sextet 3) ; Basketball Manager 2, 3; Class Secretary 3; Junior Prom Committee 3. We know that Nadine will reach her goal, for she has ability and determination. Her pleasant disposition and courteous manners make friends for her wherever she goes. Her ambition is to become a medical secretary, and we wish her luck in her venture. “Never in a hurry, never has a care.” Holden High School. Honor Roll 3; Honorable Mention 1, 2; Monitor 4; Yearbook Staff, Business Manager 4. Zoom! and there goes “Ken.” His greatest pride is his sharp blue Ford. With his devil-may-care, easy-going phil- osophy of life, we are sure his “fortunes will be many, his troubles few.” C arof oCt ouLie “In silence there’s a worth that brings no risk.” Holden High School. Glee Club 1; Ring Committee 4. Carol has a pleasant manner and is always ready to make a new friend. One can count on her being around when help is needed. She will be a welcome addition to cheer up any office. “A light heart lives long.” North High School (Worcester), Major Edwards High School. Field Hockey 1; Basketball 1, 2, 3; Chorus 1, 2, 3; Softball 2, 3; Junior Play 3. Take a sunny smile, mischievous eyes, enthusiasm for fun, plus sk ill in sports and you have a perfect description of “Jackie.” Not only does she participate in school athletics but she ioves to skate and bowl and is a fine swimmer. Energy such as hers is bound to bring success.

Noisy and vivacious, “Jan” makes her own fun wherever she goes. The college campus she graces will never be dull with her around. “A well-bred silence always at command” Holden High School. Glee Club 1, 2; Librarian 3; Bank Teller 4; Echo Staff 4. In Mary we have the willing and capable worker exemplified. She has pursued the “even tenor of her way” for four years, unobtrusive but always ready to grant a favor or to respond when help is needed. She deserves the best the future can offer. “Silence is golden.” Holden High School. Glee Club 1. Mary is a quiet, reserved girl, earnest, sincere and co- operative. Such traits will always bring success, as we know they will to Mary. Cc ohm ns “Nor know we anything so fair As the smile upon thy face.” Major Edwards High School. Basketball 1, 2; Chorus 1, 2, 3. “Ruthie,” a soft-spoken, attractive lass from Oakdale, has seldom raised her voice above its usual pleasant tone. She has gained the friendship of many with her delightful smile and good nature. She plans to go to a school of cosmetology. £htk X ouise “Happy and good, kind and true.” Barre High School, Holden High School. Softball 2; Major- ?te 3; Grange Prize-Speaking 3; Junior Prom Committee 3; Speech Club 3, 4; Glee Club 4; Yearbook Staff 4. “Edie” comes from the more remote community of Oakham, and for this reason we have seen less of her than we should like. Personable and a good student, her calm and serene tempera- ment and courteous manner make her a nice person to know. £ umm i n r “Amiability shines by its own light.” Major Edwards High School. Baseball 1, 2, 3; Junior Play 3; Junior Prom Committee 3. “Chip” is a hard worker and a sincere friend to everyone. Though he has an incessant supply of jokes, he has his serious moments. After graduation “Chip” plans to go into the service and later take up a trade at trade school. ’aujneau “Actor of actors with ‘Casey at the Bat.’ ” Major Edwards High School. Sophomore Hop Committee 2; Junior Prom Committee 3. Rarely indeed do we find someone with the wit of Franklin. His dry humor is enjoyed by all. He is also known for his acting and speaking ability, but the one thing that will always be foremost in our recollections of Franklin is his pride and joy — the black and silver Model A.
