GIRLS' BASKETBALL J Mrs. Prince - Girls' Basketball Coach The 1973-74 school year was a year of beginnings for the Waccamaw Academy Girls Varsity Basketball Team. Practice began in October with eleven girls express ing interest in the team. These eleven girls perservered through hours of practice - learning and improving skills to perfect plays for games. This hard work brought rewards - games won and a vie for the State Independent Schools Championship. The trip to Raleigh for the state championship in their first year will remain a memorable first. Although the team did not win the state championship, they are winners for having stayed with the task to prove that it could be done .
