u LET’S GO CRAZY What? A gang in Wabasso High School! Is it hunting season already? Is Boy George performing tonight? These could have been just a few of the comments heard floating around the halls. Spirit Week, which was Oc- tober 5 to October 12, started out with a bang. Monday exploded with newcomers as Imper- sonation Day brought in nerds, a street gang, Twisted Sister, and Magnum P.I. (The Enforc- er also made a special appearance). Toga day was the second event of the week. Tuesday afternoon was spent watching various stu- dents and teachers pig out at the Donut Eating Contest. Wednesday proved to be dirty, as grubby people, clothes, and shoes made their way down the halls. Thursday, Camouflage day, was experienced by many good hunters (and some not so good). Thursday's activity was a very long and tiring snake race. Friday was the traditional Maroon and Gold day. A loss in the football game on Friday brought on some sadness, but that was quickly diminish- ed by the music of Foreplay at the home- coming dance which concluded the busy, fun, and very spirited, 1984 Spirit Week.

“COME YE FROM THE HILLS ” Visiting a mystical village in the middle of Scotland that is 200 years in the past isn't an adventure one usually makes, but this year, you were invited to do just that. With the music of love songs, fairs on Machonnachy Square, and a beautiful wedding, Brigadoon, a wonderfully preserved vil- lage, came to life. The blessed, old-fashioned town appeared only one day every one-hundred years in order to save its traditional ways. On one of those days, two hunters from New York, Tommy and Jeff, stumble upon the village and, of course. Tommy falls in love with a sweet village girl named Fiona. However, he learns he must leave her. He leaves but cannot stop thinking about her and decides he must go back. But how? In the end, he again finds the secret village and begins his new life with his new love. BRIGA- DOON was brought alive by many hardworking indivi- duals, who were directed by the dedicated and talented, Mary Kay Schweim. After 11 weeks of rehearsals, set build- ing and costume making, the cast of 29 gave their audiences a show to remember. BRIGADOON was presented to both the elementary and high school, and ended its run with two successful public performances on November 16 and 17.
