Because of the amount of people and the singing and dancing, it meant twice as much work and twice as many hours of practice. Not only were many hours spent during practice, but also working on set construction, sewing costumes, and applying make-up. After those long weeks, the audiences were entertained by the spectacular perform- ance of these actors and actresses, as they brought a fairy tale to real life. 1- Once Upon A Mattress-Row 1: K. One - Act Celebration It has definately been a year to cel- abrate for this years' one-act play. As always, alot pf long hours and sleepless nights were put in by these young tal- ented people and their director. But this year they proved to themselves, the dir- ector, and WHS just how much they could do. They went to the District Contest and come home with first place. They then went on to Region Contest where they earned first again and a chance to star at the State Contest. On Feb. 14th these hopeful people gave their play for one last performance and that excellant per- formace gave them the highest honor of three stars. Congratulations and thank- you for making WHS a fine examp 1e of good drama. 1. Mrs. Schweim opening her gift from the cast and crew. 2. They were fantastic! Never will I forget what they all did for me! I spent a most delightful year here in Wabasso High School! I always enjoyed the friendly atmosphere in school. It was quite interesting for me to be part of the fall play. I really liked that! Being a member cf the band and choir was also a very pleasant experience. Some other new experiences were homecoming, school sports, prom and graduation. It would be nice if they had somethings Ike that in Belguim too! I will never forget you W.H.S.! Thank you. This years team coached by Miss Val Oftedahl had a terrific season. They defeated Springfield 2-1 to advance to region competition. In the region finals they quickly overcame Renville - Sacred Heart 2-0 to be on their way to the STATE volleyball tournament. Supported by many loyal Rabbit fans the team won their first state game over Fosston 2-0. In the 2nd game they lost Id the eventual state champions, Moose Lake 0-2. They were also responsible for learning music for their various concerts. The Band finished out their busy year with a Pop's Concert based on Pacific Island Fantasy. To top that off the Seniors took their annual trip to Chanhassen to see The Sound of Music. The 1980-81 twirlers could be seen this year at foot- ball basketball, wrestling, and at all the parades held during the summer. Between the two of them they worked on many routines and deserve much thanks. Good work grls! 1. Concert Band. Row 1: J.Kalkhoff; T.Spi11iaert; K. Hirsch; S. Taylor; l.Salmela; N.Schueller; M.
