Up the Down Staircase was selected as the school play presented in the fall of the year. The play was about a teacher's problems with students in a New York City school. The cast was one of the largest ever. Twenty-nine students took the roles of staff members and students. Approodmately six weeks were spent in rehearsal and preparation for the various performances. The play was presented once to elementary pupils and high school stu- dents, and twice to the public. Everyone enjoyed being in the play, although there were a lot of butterflies before performances. Cast members were as follows: Staff: Mary Schilling, Bill Mahal, Jolene Macht, Bob Johanneck, Sheila Sinclair, Joleen Hirsch, Colleen Woodford, Kathy Kenny, Dale Hauptli, Denise Christenson, Jo Ann Altermatt, Audrey Kletscher. Spirit Is Always Up The spirit was up through out the week of homecoming; however the Rabbits lost to Gaylord, the Toma- hawk champions.
