SC Introduces Slave Day Promoting homecoming, sponsoring a Spirit Jug for lagging school spirit, selling candy to buy a new popcorn machine, and organizing a Bundle Day drive for needy children were some of the tasks which the WHS Student Council undertook to improve Wabasso High School. Slave Day, where student council members were bought by students and teachers to per- form assigned duties, was an innovation this year. Slave, Joe Brand, shines Mr. Nelson's shoes. As an added attraction at pepfests, the cheerleaders and the student council introduced the spirit jug. H. Fenger, P. Fixsen, B. Muenchow, and M. Johanneck modeled the different types of sweaters which were in this year. A variety of fishnet stockings were worn at WHS this year to complement the various outfits ot many girls. Rita Eichten shows an example of long hair worn by some of the girls dur- ing 1967-68. Shoes added a brighter attraction to the school term as shown by the example below.
