BASKETBALL SEASON'S RECORD A TEAK Left to right: Stending--Coach Orville Yeas, W. Hauptli, S. Bangerter, R. Dennistoun, T. Lange, R. Friedly, D. Schmidt, W. Fennern, Assistant Coach Gramer Davis. Kneellng--G. Bill, R. Siegfried, C. Evans, P. Almjeld, G. Evans, Manager J. Lange. Paul Almjeld played a long season with or for the effort. A look at the season's st much better light. For instance, over the entire season Wabasso was only outscored by 13 fieldgoals and actually attempted more shots from the field than their opposition. Defense, or the lack of it, and poor free throwing proved to be the undoing of the locals. The lack of men because of fouls in late stages of games caused them to drop many close games. All of the Seniors fired for good field goal averages with Lange leading at 39%; Ban- gerter, Schmidt, and Almjeld all at 33 ! and Fennern shooting a good 28% for the year. Returning next year are Siegfried, Dennistoun, Chuck and George Evans, Hauptli, Friedly, Bill, and Werner. All are expected to help out and pros- pects for a rather good year seem in order. Most people hardly no- ticed the B team, coached by Skip Davis, as they started off each night of basketball entertainment by playing the preliminary game. However, the game was preliminary in name only as the B teamers hustled to a 5 won and 9 lost record by showing great de- sire to play winning basket- ball. The habits, skills, and experience acquired in these games should benefit every player in the future.
