ADULT EDUCATION When You Stop Learning You Stop Living was the motto of the Adult Night Classes of the Wabasso Public High School during the 1959-1960 school year. Wabasso and America are convinced that education is for all. The idea that every community should provide for the continuing education of adults is rapid- ly being accepted. The door has been opened for a program which should grow year by year to meet the needs and desires of the Wabasso area. Classes offered this year included Vocal Music conducted by Mr. Solheim. This particular class formed a choir and sang a variety of songs during the first hour of their weekly two hour meetings. The second hour was spent lis- tening to records in music appreciation. The shop was the scene of a very popular class. Gas and arc welding was the subject, and the two hour sessions were divided into one hour lectures and one hour practice sessions. A general discussion was held at the close of each practice period. Formation of the Wabasso Whirlers came about because of the square dancing class which started in November. Instructions were offered to beginning coupLes, and the two and a half hours of practice soon had everyone swinging in superior fashion. Concluding activity for Adult Education this year was the art class which included sketching, lettering, animated cartooning, water color and oil paint- ing. Local instructors included Mrs. Archie Dennistoun and Mr. Arnold Kramer.
