ROW TWO: Advisor Mr. Bashara; Betty Potter, Melva Dobberstein, Doris Weber, Don Gadow, Vice-President Arlan Fuhr; President Roger Schaffran; Marlys Schweim, Ila Mae Eis, Advisor, Miss Steffen. ROW iHREE: Eugene Jensen, David Evans, Joel Fennern, Dennis Schumacher, Ken Wotschke, Donn Bergstrom, Dennis Arends, Gerald Lamprecht, Roger Werner, David Danielowski, Bill Jensen. PROPHECY Let’s take a look at Rabbit Town, U. S. A., in the year 1967. To begin with, we see ROGER SCHAFFRAN as the great mayor of this thriving town, who was elected for four years at the last election. Over there at that corner, the local highway patrol can be seen. Say, it’s EUGENE JENSEN. He can go as fast as he wants to now, and legally!! Now, JERRY LAMPRECHT and DAVID DANIELOWSKI show up. They're the town’s most eligible bachelors. All the girls are after them, including RUTH MAXA. By the way--RUTH MAXA is “Miss Rabbit Town of 1967.’’ Oh, there is the local beauty salon which is managed by ELDONNA BEERMANN and MARLYS SCHWEIM. Their specialty is the latest Siberian hair styles. Comrade CAROL KAMMERER isorginating the styles. Also, in CAROL’S sparetime, she is the head of the local “Blind Date Club. DENNIS SCHUMACHER, the town's only Mercury dealer, is driving and showing off the Mercury for 1968!!! Right next to him is DAVE DANIELOWSKI, the local Ford dealer. He and DENNIS SCHUMACHER (although both sell rord Motor products) are constantly at each other’s throats. Stopping for a short home-town visit is the elegant playboy, DON GADOW, with his seventh wife. The GADOW’S are on their way to a famous Siberian resort. ARLAN FUHR and his famous band are shocking the nation with their out-of-this-world arrangements plus ARLAN doing his own vocalizing. DONN BERGSTROM, an up-and-coming scientist, with his right-hand assistant ELSIE ANDERSON, is trying to improve his pocket-sized A bombs. During the evenings, one can see ELSIE ANDERSON and DON BERGSTROM, along with their friends, JUDY BERNARD and JOEL FENNERN, as the two top dancing teams in the country. Right now the act is at the “Shady Shadow” night club. Rabbit Town High School is now coming into sight. DENNIS ARENDS is the Superintendent and Principal combined. The school is being run perfectly-- especially with the help of MELVA DOBBERSTEIN, the high school secretary. JANICE HAUPTLI, the town’s foremost painter, is making millions with her specialty of painting “metallic purple” houses. That’s the local atomic power plant right there. It’s run by ILA MAE EIS. The plant produces electricity with an extra heavy charge toward DAVID DANIELOWSKI’S house. ILA MAE EIS is also after him. Besides being mayor, ROGER SCHAFk RAN is in joint ownership with NORMA SUESS, running and managing the depot and elevator. NORMA is also Rabbit Town’s latest female juke box recording star. In this section of town, DELBERT KRUSE’S filling station can be found. He offers the “Goose Grease Special!’’ Dr. ROGER WERNER'S main office is right around the corner. EILEEN 18

LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT We, the Senior Class of Wabasso, County of Redwood, State of Minnesota, being of unsound mind, well-trained memory, and super-human understanding, do delcare this our last will and testament. We dispose of our possessions as follows: To the Juniors we leave our homeroom, our desks--especially the one with the broken seat--our neat bulletin board, and the gum under the desks--some of which is quite fresh. To the Sophomores we will our ability to obey and abide by the rules of this institution. To the Freshmen we leave everything the Juniors and Sophomores do not want. To the teachers we leave our empty desks with the hope that they will be filled with students as good as we were?????, all the paper and pencils we borrowed, and all the quietness we didn’t give them. To Ralph Weber DONALD BERGSTROM wills his basketball ability. Let’s see you spark on that court, Ralph. To Darlene Bradley goes EILEEN FENNERN’s dimples. We’re sure the boys will like those pretty dimples, Darlene. To Donna Wilson goes JULENE HOFFMAN’s height; but be sure to duck when you go through a doorway, Donna. JANICE HAUPTLI leaves her ability to turn sharp corners to Karen Lovald; but please, Karen, leave the curbs. JOEL FENNERN wills his hot roddingto John Salewske as he has become a safe driver in his old age. DENNIS SCHUMACHER wills his classy haircut to Harold Bergstrom. May his grow longer! GERALD LAMPRECHT wills his ability to keep ’em laughing to Sidney Smith. The Seniors of ’58 should be rolling in the halls with laughter. The Paul Giel of our class, EUGENE JENSEN, wills his football ability to Gerald Berg- strom in the hope that some day he will become a star left half at the University of Minnesota. ARLAN FUHR wills his archery skiU to Sidney Smith. May you be a future Robin Hood. ELDONNA BEERMANN wills her ability to blush at the wrong moment to Gloria Muen- chow; but please, Gloria, not all the time! DONALD GADOW wiUs his “Feminine” pen pals to Leland Henning. That should keep you busy for the next few years, Leland. DELBERT KRUSE leaves his ability to be in school every day to Joyce Hauptli; and we are very sure Mr. Bashara will appreciate this! To LaVern Bernardy, DAVID EVANS wills his curly hair. Take it easy on the “Toni” solution, LaVern. DENNIS ARENDS wills his comfortable place in history class to Ronald Irlbeck. DENNIS has had many nice naps at that particular desk. JUDY BERNARD and ELSIE ANDERSON will their ability to have a good time any time, any place, to Carillon Kintzi and Rachel Bode. Now you should really have a riot. Richard Macht--get ready for a change in your life, ROGER SCHAFFRAN is willing you his ability to go steady. To Gloria Muenchow, CAROL KAMMERER wills her ability to remember and get done the million and one things she always had to do. Maybe you can get someone to act as your secretary, Gloria. To Don Lange, MARLYS SCHWEIM wills her chemistry ability in hopes he will some day be a famous chemist. To LaVon Bernardy goes DORIS WEBER’s artistic ability. To Mary Almjeld, BILLY JENSEN wills his ability to always get to classes on time. DAVID DANIELOWSKI wills his ability to study to Janith Schaffran, which will surely make you hit the top. KEN WOTSCHKE wills his clarinet to Gary Henning. Let’s hope he doesn’t run Benny Goodman out of business. BETTY POTTER and MELVA DOBBERSTEIN leave their job of wrapping sandwiches to Jean Willhite and Verlynn Schwantes in the hopes they will wrap them as well as they did. NORMA SUESS and ILA MAE EIS will their drum sticks to Ralph Weber and Ronald Irlbeck. Keep the drum section going!!! ROGER WERNER would like to get rid of his freckles, so he is willing them to Karen Lovald. RUTH MAXA wiUs her “seriousness” to Ruth Schmiesing. And without further adieu, we bid farewell to W.H.S. and all future Seniors. 17

PROPHECY (Continued) FENNERN is Dr. WERNER’S top nurse. Dr. WERNER has a lot of trouble with the highway patrol. Not that Dr. WERNER is doing anything wrong, but there seems to be some attractions there. While JERRY LAMPRECHT isn’t being chased by girls, he runs the “Lumpy Produce.” D AVE EVANS is one of the best egg candlers that “Lumpy’s Produce” ever had--although most of the teenagers know DAVE as the top male juke box recording star. Up main street a ways is the barber shop. KEN WOTSCHKE and DORIS WEBER are in joint ownership. Their special is hair- cuts for people, dogs, and cats at $2.50. EVELYN HAUAN’S dress shop is on the main street, too. She has a floor show and a style show everyday showing Siberian and Turkish styles. BETTY POTTER--post mistress. Having some trouble as everyone has lost his mail box combination, and BETTY is figuring them all out. Here comes the great coach JOEL FENNERN. Even though he’s a member of one of the top dance teams, JOEL is a great English teacher and coach at R.H.S. “The Rabbit Ears” should be out any hour now. It’s the daily newspaper run off each day. Last week JULENE was also elected “Mrs. Rabbit Town of 1967,” so JULENE is real busy. The town council (consisting of MARLYS, ELDONNA, JUDY, EVIE, DORIS and MELVA—(and poor Mayor SCHAFi RAN at the head) has made the law which prohibits the feeding of “Nightmares.” And now to leave this beautiful and thriving town, we step into BILL JENSEN’S new XBJ300 flying saucer and whisk away at 8,000 miles per hour. And as we lose sight of Rabbit Town, we bid farewell to the seniors of “57” (“67”). CLASS OFFICERS PRESIDENT..........Roger Schaffran VICE-PRESIDENT........Arlan Fuhr SEC. -TREAS........Carol Kammerer HISTORY Miss Beckler presents the Homemaker of Tomorrow award to Elli Beermann. In September, 1953, thirty-two eager freshmen entered the doors of WHS. The fateful day, our initiation, arrived too soon; but much to our surprise, we found it was lots of fun. Our class float won first prize that year in the Homecoming parade. As sophomores, we initiated the freshmen much to our enjoyment. Other than that, it was quiet an uneventful year, referring to extra-curricular activities. Our junior year was a busy one. Our class play, A Date With Judy, kept us busy for about two months--it had to be postponed twice. The junior-senior banquet kept us working all spring--flowers by the dozens were made, other small details had to be taken care of. The theme of it was in the Evening By The Moonlight. Another big event of that year was the arrival of our class rings--of course, we de- cided they were the nicest we'd ever seen. Four of the happiest years of our lives were drawn to a close when thirty sen- iors walked through the halls of WHS for the last time as students............we have now joined the ranks of the alumni of WHS. 19
