, Glass Hisfoful The freshman class of 1.9417 cons isted of only thirty mem- bers. TQ most ,of us it was a new and confusing experience. Ole of the first .big events of the year was initiation. T,P1.cks,and stunts were in storeHfor the eventng's performance. he first all-school event was omecomtng. Our class attendant was Beatrice Kalkhoff. The flirst member to leave our class was LeRoy Boklep and soon Kennet ,Ruchtaeschel also left. ,The officers for the class were: President, Marl s Bangerterg Vice President, Vernon Maxa,' Secretary-Treasurer, TThrastlla Shemonj and Student Council members were, 'Dorothy Reynolds, Fred Dallmann, and Glen Bock. The -c lass advisor was Mr. Kello g. Gene Norcutt of Mi lroy was admitted to our class. Two deTe ates, Dorothy Reynolds, and Fred Dallmann were selected by the class to view the Freedom Train at Wi lmar. We entertained the sophomores at a theatre and weiner roast party. To end a ear of new experjiences, we acted as 'Big Brothers and Sisters' tyo the visiting eighth graders. We opened up the sophomore year withadmittanca of a new member, Gerald ehne who became our Vice President. The President was Fred Dalllmann' Secretary, Pat illahalg and Treascurer Vernon Maxa. Mr. Dave Johnson was our c ass advisor. len Bock Mar lys Barggerter and James Kratzke represented our class on the Student ouncil. Our sophomore homecoming was a memor- able event with Shirley Schroeder as our attendant to the, queen. A gala, exciting event.was the all-school carnival which was he d tn the school auditorium. The king candidate was Arnold Kruse and Audrey Bangerter was the ueen candidate. The Drama- tics Club presented hree one-act pclays. Some of us solphomores had parts tn the 'Red Velvet Goat' and 'Riders to he Sea.' Members were chosen to be waiters and waitresses at the iuntor- senior banquet with the theme 'A il Showers, ' ,On May 0, the class went to Ramsey State Park fjdr a class picnic. 1 Mr. Gordon Besemann and Mr. Mler lyn Ingebritson were class advisors for the 'unior year. The officers who were elected were: President, Tlat Mahalg Vice President, Shirley Schroeder, Secretary Beatrice Kalkhoffg and Treasurer, Norma Skoblik. Members rom our class on the Student Council .were James Kratzke, ernon Maxa, and Lorance Geske. Dennis Goblirsch trans- ferred from St. Anne s to our class. Dorothtyfieynolds was queen attendant for the annual homecoming fest wi ies. The class re- sumed to t e former number of members when Gerald Lehnemoved to Brownton. Fred Dallmann and Janice Zimmerlt toolethetr places as candidates for carnival king and queen. The Junior-senior banquet on gpril 20 was the big event of the giear. We chose as our theme ' itch your Wagon to a Star. ' Our ong-awaited class rings were received this gear. 'And Came the Spring, ' a three- act comedy was presented y our class. .Pres iding officers for the senior gear were: President, Dennis Goblirsch, ice President Arlene ode, Secretary, Mar lys Bangerterg Treasurer, Beatrice Tfalkhoff. Student Council mem- bers were Dennis Goblirsch, Fred Dal mann, Shir ley Schroeder, Lorance Geske, and James Kratzke. Mr. Everett Qlson was our ad- visor. Qur class shrank once more to twenty-eight members when Lillie Sickmann failed to return for her senior year. A .snake dance, floats, .and'a game with Walnut Grove were included in our homecoming .act wit ies. At the dance Dorothy Reynolds was crown- ed queen with Shirley Schroeder and Beatrice Ka khoff attendants. fContinued on Page 8j -7...
