And what to our wondering eyes Did appear... But, Candy Wolfe, our Queen from Last year! And what did she do, As we stood up to wave? She, all by herself. Crowned Marla and Dave! But the teachers were good sports, Just the same. But the big event, The big surprise, Was the Carnival Dance Which caused gaping mouths And wide opened eyes. And at that dance Was a wonderful thing, Julie and Jim Our Snow Queen and Snow King— Teacher's team for the basketball game. Cheered on by the Faculty. Better luck next time! 13 S. Perry, L. The atmosphere was very pleasant as couples danced to the music of Flying Free, the band. The theme song was Stairway to Heaven and during a faster dance, Mr. Loretz, Mr. Meisch and Dr. Timm were seen on the dance floor in the middle of a snake dance. Mrs. Carr and other teachers also joined in. The highlight of the evening was the crowning of the Prom King and Queen who turned out to be Beth Scheel and Richard Slick Carrels. The boys in shop were busy with their projects, whether it was a clock or a stereo. The students in the art classes had the time of their lives in ceramics. The new kiln was a great asset to the art department. And the home-ec kids had fun cooking up a storm and sewing to their hearts content! C. Johnson and J. HISTORY AND BUSINESS History is one of those classes you take to learn about past historical events. Business courses are taken to prepare you for the future. Both courses are interesting and fun. This year the business department began the Lester Hill Cooperation. It was a simulated office situation and taught the students how an office ticks. Now how the heck did you get in here? Mr. Loretz. 45 The Indians captured their second straight Conference Championship with a 6 and 1 conference record and a 7 and 2 overall record. The championship was determined in the last game because of the tight race. The Indians are losing fifteen seniors and five All-Conference selections in Robin Passe, Dave Metz, Glen Witte, Rich Carrels, and John St. Jacque. Even though we lose this strength next year's prospects look good because of the nine returning juniors and seven sophomores, with added help from the B-squad. The Seniors say goodbye and good luck. At least that is what the B Team boys say! Under the direction of Mr. Craigmile they were seen dribbling down the court before every varsity game. These boys were either good luck or bad luck depending on whether they won or lost their game. It seemed everytime the B Team won a game the A Team lost and when the B Team lost it seemed to inspire the Varsity to win. Good luck next year boys and may you win all of your games. Also, the posters they make that fill the empty halls brighten your day and may even inspire the teams to victory. When you're out to win, you need someone in there cheering for you. The Future Teachers of America are a group of students who someday plan to be teachers or who are just interested in being in the club. The club had two students exchanges this year, one with Ellendale and the other with Cloquet. The F.T. A. also had a picnic at Whitewater in May. The Future Homemakers of America were busy this year with many projects. One project was the tea for the National Honor Society. The girls served punch and home-made refreshments. The girls' advisor was Mrs. Abbott. The highlight of the year for the Ski Club was their weekend trip to Telemark, a ski resort in northern Minnesota. The Ski Club also had a weekly bus trip to Frontinac to enjoy this cold and beautiful winter sport of skiing. FTA. ROW 1 LTO R. D. Schurhammer, E. Sylvester, J. Biever, K. Walter, D. Stewart, C. MUSIC, MUSIC, MUSIC If you are interested in music and you like to sing, then chorus is the place for you. Everyday these girls exercised their vocal chords in chorus, and had fun doing it. They presented a Pop concert in the fall, a Christmas concert during the holidays and another concert in the spring. They also competed in Vocal contests in Kasson with other schools. If you are interested in music, but can't sing, then maybe you should consider band. It offers you a chance to learn to play an instrument and listen to modem and classical songs. Also, you can get some exercise by marching in parades. Well, band or chorus, the choice is yours. 74 ROW Is C. Earney, K. Walter, K. Meyer, D. Schouweiler, L. Hartert, M. Noll, M. Mathias, S.
