Homecoming ’70 The cold weather failed to dampen the spirits of Wabasha High as we tied the Randolph Rockets 6-6 in our Friday night game. Queen Mary Beth Burrichter and King Jim Abbott reigned over the festivities after their memorable coronation on Thursday. The annual homecoming dance was held Saturday night with music by the Last Draft . The theme this year was Reflections of My Life . It was very appropriate as this homecoming will be one that will be remembered for many years to come. ABOVE LEFT: Can I look now? L. TO R.: P. Schmitt, L. Sandwick, G. Kennedy, K. Caves. Sadie Hawkins The annual staff decided to try something different to raise money that would finance this year's annual and came up with a Sadie Hawkins Dance. Instead of having just the girl ask boy procedure we came up with a few extra events, one of these being the crowning of a Lil' Abner and Daisy Mae to reign over the dance. The candidates were chosen from the freshman and sophomore classes and were voted on by placing a penny in their jar, which counted as one vote. The winners were Jane Kennebeck and Glenn Witte. Other prizes were awarded for the most original costume, sexiest costume, most complicated costume and the best dressed couple. The Stone Flour from Lacrosse proved the music for this most memorable event. ABOVE: No, this doesn't mean we're married! (N. Wod-ele and date) 12
