Student Congress President, Mark Goebel, casts his vote for Home- coming Queen. Homecoming is an event sponsored by the WVC Stu- dent Congress. These Congress members are reviewing the new Constitution of the Student Congress. In the Student Union, the County Clerk assists Pam Bass as she registers to vote. Student Congress Backs WVC Student Activities Governing the student body, promoting annual events, and co-sponsoring organizational activities are just a few of the duties of the dynamic WVC Student Congress. Its thirty mem- bers constitute the avenue of communication between the stu- dents, administration, and faculty of WVC. In order to serve in this governing body, a student must be elected by the students at the beginning of the Fall Quarter, or must be chosen by an approved campus organization as its official Representative in Congress. This year’s Student Congress has undergone many sweeping changes, due to its adoption of a completely re- vamped Constitution. Included in these changes are the re- organization of the old Student Senate into the Student Con- gress (complete with House and Senate), provisions for both faculty and administrative advisor, and establishment of a Judicial Board, composed of members of the Congress, Faculty, and Administration.
