Students Welcome Guest Speakers To Our Campus The world was our campus, and the world came to us through the media of guest speakers. From the world of journalism, politics, and economics, they opened our eyes wider to the world we inhabit. The first speaker, Mr. Martin Gershen, pre- sented some interesting highlights from his book, Destroy or Die: The True Story of Mylai. He commanded attention dur- ing his lecture and at an informal rap session later in the day. Our next guest was U.S. Senator Charles Percy. His message to the students was a challenge to become an active part of gov- ernment. Senator Percy answered questions about the war in Vietnam, the draft, gun laws and federalized welfare. Dr. Dennis Weidenaar, Professor of Economics at Purdue Univer- sity, brought the students some pertinent information about the economic outlook in the United States. Students appre- ciated forecasts on job opportunities and some clues to the most promising career fields. Senator Percy greets students outside the Student Union after his address. Mr. Bennett and Mr. French: wait to speak as Mr. Griggs confronts Martin Gershen. Dr. Dennis Weidenaar listens to a student’s question after his lecture on economics. 127
