'l'I'IE PRESIDENT 7' 5 . ,5 1' it ri. . ga-.f ill, ifk Q , . gb A STUDENT OF English Institutional History, an administrator and a public relations expert is the President of the College, Byron Kightly Trippet. Dr. Trippet, who taught history at Wabash after re- turning from Oxford, now laments that he no longer can teach because of extensive periods of time spent away from the campus. Under Dr. Trippefs ad- ministration the college has grown: intellectually, with the progressive maturation of the Great Lakes Associationg and physically, with the completion of Martindale Hall. Earlier this year Dr. Trippet had the pleasure of announcing a two million dollar grant from the Ford Foundation which will be applied to the endowment goal of twenty million dollars. Other projects which the President hopes to accomplish in the near future are the construc- tion of three new buildings: a new South Hall for the social sciencesg a theatre-auditorium5 and a Physical Education Building and Gymnasium. VVhile the President was on campus this year he was seen at Pan-Hel with his red dinner jacket and at Commencement, where he managed to wear three different doctoral hoods.
