Dr. Clarence E. Leavenworth first came to Wabash College in 1916. For thirty four years he taught classes in French and Spanish, and was chairman of the department of Romance Languages. While he excelled in scholarly pursuits, he took an active interest in every phase of college life at Wabash, and in the community. He set an example in loyalty and in service for all who knew him. Dr. Leavenworth’s death, on September 23, 1950, was a genuine loss to Wabash College. There is a special place for his memory in all our hearts. Page Twenty
