Dedication John E. McDonald It is with great pride, adoration, and re- spect that we dedicate this yearbook to Mr. Jack McDonald - an adept teacher, a good friend, and a superior human being. “Mr. Mac,” as he is affectionately referred to, is a truly special person who, during his years at Clarke, has touched more lives and affected more attitudes than most people can in a life- time. He has dedicated himself to his work and to his students, and the success he has achieved is immeasurable. Most students who go through Clarke have the benefit of being associated with Mr. McDonald in one way or another. His classroom is just the tip of the iceberg, as his dedication to the school extends to many special activities. He is a notable figure on the sports field, successfully coaching baseball and soccer. Mr. Mac also lends his expertise to the Junior High Musical, a wonderful tradition which he started and still continues with great enthusiasm. Under his leadership and guidance, many Clarke students have gone on to pursue professional careers in both sports and drama. His services to the school have been year-round, and he has barely enough time to take a breath before a new activity on his agenda begins. In his classroom, Mr. McDonald teaches more than social studies, he teaches what it means to be a happy and well-balanced person. His words of wisdom are an inspiration to us all. For his expertise, his dedication, and for the love which he relentlessly gives to his students, we, his students, acknowledge these gifts and extend our warmest and deepest gratitude to this very special man. 4

Dedication Roy Siegel It is a man of gret sensitivity, a man of enor- mous devotion, and a man of undying warmth and affection that we dedicate this yearbook to - Mr. Roy Siegel. Mr. Siegel is an exceptional person whose teaching does not end in the class- room, but extends beyond the bounds of the mandatory curriculum. As a teacher of art, Mr. Siegel is very talented, but, moreover, the love that he shares with his students and the dedica- tion he shows toward his work is artwork in it- self. Mr. Siegel teaches students a new medium of self-expression through artwork. He endeav- ors to give students a new perspective of life with the appreciation of and participation in the creation of art. It takes a truly passionate person to be such a fine instructor of the pas- sionate subject of art. Accordingly, Mr. Siegel demonstrates his love and devotion towards the students in many capacities outside the classroom. It is ironic that one way in which he has contributed a great deal to the students is in his sponsorship of the Scope Yearbook. He has been of immeasurable importance to the graduating Seniors over the years through his participation in the yearbook. Because the yearbook is such a meaningful and lasting remembrance for Clarke graduates, it is a truly outstanding achievement to have contributed to it in such a magnanimous way. Because Mr. Siegel has devoted his love and services to the graduating Seniors over the many years, it is altogether fitting that we, the graduating Seniors of 1987, pay heed and show our enormous gratitude to the man who has given so much of himself to us and our fellow graduates. Mr. Siegel has inspired us with his vast knowledge of art, with his dedication to his students, and with his marvel- ous sense of humor. He is a wonderful and very gifted man. We will always remember his charm and wit, admire his devotion, respect him as a teacher, and love him as a person. 5
