 In organizing half a thousand seniors Necessity demands a central leader Directing youthful energies. Now, having Enlisted such a counselor for our class, we Discover that ungrudgingly he helps us In school without a thought of recognition. Concurrently a golf coach, history teacher, A skating Barney Bear and prom arranger. This active man tacitly places his faith Jn our ability to build together. Only in part can we repay his efforts. Packaging twelve months of living into one neat volume Is a near herculean task It requires separation of the trivial from the paramont Demands definition of the essence of Clarke School is reading 'riting and 'rithmetic. But is formalized education the entire experience? To completely encompass the Scope of a year A book must Reach beyond the three R's Must Relate what we saw, what we felt. It must Represent our Rebelliousness, our Recklessness our Regrets our Responsibilities Our Reactions to the era's environment No yearbook can expect to recapture Every person's every moment of any significance. To Reenact each of the 365 days in poetry and pictures. But it attempts to Reopen the thoughts of what is past The Road to Rememberance. It can Remind you of the events And pair the vaguely recalled faces with forgotten names And perhaps, momentarily, it can transport you back to your youth.
